The “master storyteller” Vishal Bharadwaj is back as a director after a three year long hiatus with the to be released (what promises to be an epic love story) movie titled”Rangoon” produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures. Consisting of a stellar star cast that includes “suave” Saif Ali Khan, “talented” Shahid Kapoor, and the “beautiful” Kangana Ranaut this movie is all set to be released throughout the country on Friday 24th February.
This movie is essentially “an intense love triangle” that revolves around three characters, Rustom “Rusi” Billimoria (Saif Ali Khan), Nawab Malik (Shahid Kapoor), and Miss Julia (Kangana Ranaut). Apparently, the character of Kangana is also said to have been inspired by “Fearless Nadia” , the first stunt woman that the Hindi film industry (i.e. Bollywood) produced, and who was renowned for her role in the movie “Hunterwali”. The music has been composed by the extremely creative Bharadwaj himself, and lyrics written by the “Urdu master” Gulzar (the regular lyricist in Vishal’s movies). In addition, with relation to the soundtrack, the songs, “Bloody Hell ” and “Yeh Ishq Hai” sound extremely interesting.
With this much anticipated movie on the verge of release here is hoping that it not only lives up to the high standard of “cinematic brilliance” that Bharadwaj has set over the years but also, manages to “rake in the mollah” at the box office.
